She paints her pain on the cement walls,
And wipes the blood against the stone halls,
Expressions of sorrow in velvet art,
Each print a red tear from a broken heart,
Somewhere beneath her beautiful skin,
Her shattered spirit sits within,
Slicing away the part that bleeds,
The human inside her that needs,
As she presses another print onto the wall,
She hears beneath her the awaited call,
Over the balcony, she beckons him to come,
Maybe this time she has found her love,
He approaches her in her white gown,
Seeing only the parts he wants to wrap his hands around,
He feels soft skin and smells sweet perfume,
He’ll have her as he wants her far to soon,
He doesn’t know she’s broken inside,
He doesn’t see the pain she hides,
He sees her body and feels her skin,
But he doesn’t care about what’s within,
He takes her, as he wants her, that night,
And when the sun brings first light,
She awakens to find her prince gone,
For happily ever after never lasts long.
