The Fear
A long shadow cascades over me,
Sorrow confronts my waking eyes,
I rise to realize that I'm all alone,
I feel the emptiness inside,
For there is no one near,
There is no one coming to be with me,
Alas the pain envelops me,
And the dark night is my only comfort,
For I am fated to this eternal paradise,
I am forced into this forever gloom,
And the morning may never come,
When I may once again feel warmth,
So tonight I'll wrap myself in anger,
For anger helps to hide the pain,
And I'll hide away until tomorrow,
Though tomorrow always lies ahead,
Just beyond the endless night,
Just out of reach and out of sight,
And until I see that long lost glow,
That comes to beckon and return life,
And until the first rays of dawn,
Shine through to ease the sorrow and fright,
I'll shroud myself in darkness,
To hide away the fear,
Yet still I do not realize,
The darkness is truly the fear,
And it surrounds me whenever you're not here
