Nothing At All

Walk with me
Bring your thoughts,
Catch my hand,
So it’s not uncaught,

Stay to my side,
Don’t get ahead,
So I don’t stray behind,
And walk where you’ve bled,

What could make this less dangerous,
Make it alright between us,
Keep it contained,
So the heartbreak,
Doesn’t become contagious,

I guess this is what I do best,
Feeling blessed for nothing,
When nothing’s blessed,
This is how I’ve always been,
And it’s how I’ll be again,
but sometimes I forget,
What it was that made,
Me want to let,
You into my contained earth,
When you dismissed,
And never-mined what I was worth,

Walk with me,
And try not to speak,
Try not to judge my decision,
Or think me weak,

I pry my hand from yours,
I’ve said all I had to say,
And as I walk away,
I hear you stumble and fall,
And I say nothing at all.
