A Life to Ruin

I wake up in the morning and turn off the alarm;
I get to the shower before it dawns
Last night you said goodbye for good,
Today I would gladly die if I could.

It is no longer me and you against the world,
It hits me now and my stomach curls,
My breaths deepen and my heart beats faster,
My life has become a huge disaster.

A life to ruin in a single night,
Put quickly down without a fight,
No defense for one poor soul;
Thrown out in the world and met with its cold.
