Growing up, not so brown
White skin, white town
Never knowing what I am
An immigrant in my own land
Always setting myself apart
White skin, brown heart
A chameleon blending in
Brown heart, white skin
Confusion, anger, flying fist
Fighting him because I was pissed
Looking back, I contemplate
It was not him that I hate
The anger comes; I do not fit in
Brown heart, white skin
All these years I fought the fight
Inside of me: brown or white
I've lost the battle, I could not see
White, brown, it's only me
