Graveyard Shift

Through the eyes of a man we see a war
That is being fought for him, but is meant for so much more
Soldiers stand upon a ground that is green and mellow
So easy to follow for the tables will turn and the ground will become hollow

In the eyes of these soldiers stands a fear upon them
In the eyes of this man stands no fear but him
He laughs and wonders of
The splendid things that he does to the people he kills , but then ponders
To say that those people make his dieing day the best day of all days

The reason, so simple and sad, and all for one very stupid and bad
Just to see them again in the clouds above, but
this very smart man got it all wrong for he’s the one
that leads himself to the darkest under world of all

He falls beneath the earth, and pleads to live again, but the people he
Killed the people he murdered was really the war that he created
The graveyard was meant to be
The graveyard shift is what I see
Millions of soldiers fighting upon a bloody battleground for me

As the moon dies
And as the sun replies
I got up this very day as a soldier
And said thank you god for
letting me live and not die
For the graveyard shift has ended
And I’m still alive
