The Last Rose

Falling with innocence
Falling with disgrace that he let you down
And left that last Rose in this place

On the porch of his house
He sits and listens to the sounds
On the stairs he sits and wonders
Thinking how this last rose could
Bear his last wonders and make him repose

He feels her touching him
And loving him too
He feels her breathing on him
As he does the same too
They both glance at one
And both stare back
For they have faded from innocence,
But tried to come back

They both lack their attention towards one another
They have eyes that lead to other
There he is staring at her back
And as she turns
She sees right through me and
Runs for someone so gloomy and sad
So opposite and bad

But

If it makes her happy to be with him
If it makes her happy to be seen with him
Then ill put this last Rose

On her porch again
Only to be remembered
Not by smile, not by grace
But by that last rose that I put in that
Very special place
