Being With You

Red eyes
Empty bottles
Undone belt buckles
Uncovering bodies
Breaking barriers
Knocking down walls
Can you hear me?
Am I close enough?
Time to try
Close your eyes
Are you comfortable?
Dreaming in silence
The blanket falls off my back
Immediately replaced by your hands
As your strong arms grip my body
I become part of your rhythm
But not part of your life
Only part of the moment
This moment
This night
This intention
Not to be repeated
In my haze
I know a bottle from the table
And as it shatters
So does the trance
You awake from your possession
Kiss my forehead
And walk away
To find another bed
Another night
So my eyes will remain red
And the bottles empty
Your belt under my sheets
Capturing you
And me
And what you ignore
But I never forget
