A night like any other night
Quiet not a sound from behind my wall
The moon an unforgettable sight
Mixed with the owl's sweet call
The shining overhead
Calms my body’s quivering so
The soil under me is like a soft bed
Where I can stay not pushed to go
In the sky, a cradle rocks
The crest with sleeping stars inside
And the rain cloud gently talks
Discussions of tears its cried
All predators on the prowl
Yet I lay silent, lonely on the ground
Until the wolf begins to howl
I wake, responding to the sound
My eyes brimming with tears
I howl out scared and torn
Til the sun's new light appears
And another morning is born
Screaming out long and shrill
For the night that dies
The basin of dark that spills
Out of the cold skies
From my strenuous yell
I break to my final verse
A slave, alienated by this spell
Unwillingly obeying it's curse
