Beauty lies beneath shattered soul
Heart still beats no matter how cold
Humanity remains even though we’ve sold
Everyone, no matter how old

“I’m on TV!” is a popular expression
It’s more like a confession
“I’ve sold my soul!” is the admission
We’re part of this media’s perversion

Starry skies in starry eyes
Seeing those we should despise
I watched TV and realized
The human race should be brutalized

I’ll snap, I swear ‘cause you don’t understand
The constant push, the insane demand
To be all you can, and then still stand
The strain is constant
