Behind the Image

Behind the image,
That the young boy shows,
Lies a terrible soul,
Filled with worry and woe.

Outside he is happy,
Happier then most,
Often people wonder,
“Why does he boast?”

Deep down inside,
All he wants are simple things,
You know, maybe something happy,
With a few fun flings.

Most find him happy,
Few find him sad,
He does not tell anyone,
Not even mom and dad.

He wants death to rain upon him,
Yet he knows it is bad,
He does not want it to happen,
The last thing he wants is to leave people sad.

In the reality he faces,
Though tough and demanding,
He realizes that he has found himself,
To be still standing.
