The car skidded to a halt in front of a house that wouldn't have
looked out of place in a horror movie. The grass was uncut and dying. The
paint was chipped and dull. The shutters were crooked and the roof shingles
were broken. It looked as if it should have it's own rain cloud
hovering over it.
"Well..Here we are. Home sweet home." Les said with the proud
air of someone that owned a mansion.
Josh, who had just gotten out of the car and was looking at the rusted
mailbox, turned to look at Allison.
"Out of all your family members, why didn't i meet him when i
was alive?"
"He's the black sheep of the family. No one really talks
about him. That's why I'm his favorite relative, right Les?"
Allison laughed.
"As far as I'm concerned you're my only relative.
You'd think you're own family could be more understanding but
no...Just because I'm a little different I get disowned." Les
replied with a mixture of anger and sadness in his voice.
They walked up the cracked stone walkway and Les unlocked the door
which open with an eerie creak. Josh took one step inside and realized he
had just walked into the complete opposite of heaven. Everything in this
house had a ghostly vibe about it, From the half melted candles on the
tables to the inch think layer of dust covering everything else. The walked
down a long hallway lined with dusty picture and broken mirrors. They
finally reached a door that Josh guess led to the basement and after walking
down the flight of stairs Les flicked on the lights and Josh's jaw
dropped.
The basement was completely different from the rest of the house.
Everything was clean and highly polished. The ceiling was draped with chains
and the walls were nothing but bookcases. On one side of the room was a
glass case filled with a large array of ancient weapons. Swords and
crossbows glittered in the light from the chandelier on the ceiling. It was
at this point Josh decided to never piss off Les. On the other side of the
room was a large coffin. It was made of a shiny black wood and lined with
red silk. It was big enough to comfortably fit two grown people inside.
