As she looked into her daughter's eyes
The memories seeped back
She quietly sighs
She remembered the day her brother was born
Her life began to change so quickly
And just 3 months later her family would be torn
She wasn't sure what was changing her mother
"Could it be me?" she wondered
"Or somehow is it my new precious brother?"
She learned just a little about this thing on the news
Changing moods, depression after having a baby
Something odd called "the baby blues"
She thinks back to the day she remembers all to well
The pain, the tears, the change
How she'll go on, only time would tell
Her mother killed herself just 3 months later
She was no longer herself and her mind was being controlled
Everyday she had grown sadder
It was hard at the beginning and still is til this day
But she's still pulling through it and she still tries
And the pain is lightened every time
She looks into her daughter's eyes.
*NOTE: Yes everyone I apologize if this poem seems off or it doesnt go in
any specific order but I wrote it and left it how it was. It's about my
mom's cousin who had that baby blues syndrom after having a baby and
what her (at the time) 9 year old daughter (who is now 21)went through.
Unfortunately everything in the poem is true and yes Banana killed herself
when her son was 3 months old when she had gone camping with her family.
Some things are so questionable and you just wonder to yourself why things
happen....
