Come Home, Daddy

She waits by the window,
Pending your return,
A blank look playing her face,
But she just won't learn.

She stays up at night,
Her pillow wet from her sobbing,
Though the crest smiles down on her,
Her mind you are robbing.

Then, eventually, the sun will rise,
And the day is brand new,
She'll pace the window once again,
Her thoughts still on you.

It's been a while from the window now,
From staring at your picture too,
Has my hope failed me?
Come home, Daddy. I miss you.
