A Lesson No Rapest Will Forget

Every day that goes by I here silent weeping
Her cries muffled when she should be sleeping
She's hiding something, and I can't figure it out
She's in pain and I don't know what this is about

She's shaking always, can't sit still
Migranes constintly, always on pills
She's hiding something, and I can't figure it out
She's in pain and I don't know what this is about

Her sleeve rolls up, I see bruises
I tell her to explain, but she refuses
She's hiding something, and I can't figure it out
She's in pain and I don't know what this is about

She talks in her sleep, saying "No, please don't
I don't want to be raped, you can't, you won't"
Her pleads simmer down, I know the issue
Once I get a name, I know what I'll do

I confront her in the hall, dumbfounded she seems
Her conscience mind lies, but tells the truth while she dreams
"I know what happened, just tell me who
I'll make sure you're safe...he'll never touch you"

I never thought just a name could bring so much fear
To the eyes of a girl that's shead so many tears
Sped away in my car to meet this young sir
He'll rue the day he ever touched her

Gun in my glove compartment, I'm ready to shoot
He was sadly mistakin if he thought this was cute
The doors unlocked...he makes it too easy
This vengence is going to go so breezy

On trial in court, I sit on the stand
I don't understand the charge at hand
"What were you thinking? Give us your motive"
"I was righting a wrong one cannot forgive

I saved this girl from a life of fear
This man is gone, no more tears
If this is a crime, I'm guilty as can be
I wish I could kill him a million times, because this girl is now free

If I did nothing about this, noone would
I had to save her, I did all I could
I wish to take back nothing, my mind was set
I hope this is a lesson no rapest will forget"

My argument was passionate, the jury in awe
But with this brilliance, there was a flaw
The law is set, love isn't good enough
I took it into my own hands, so I was put in cuffs

20 to life they put me away
So I sit in innocence, counting the days
But I tell you now, I wouldn't change a thing
Because now fear isn't the only thing her life brings
