Diamonds In The Rough

People standing around,
looking at other people,
cutting them down.
But who are they
to decide who's right
or who is wrong?
To cut me and others
and our ideas down?
So what!
I like who I am.
I like being different.
I like my life the way it is.
I am a gem.
A diamond in the rough.
Every facet of me holding
a brand new surprise.
Reflecting the light around me
in a dazzling display.
You're a gem too.
Everyone is a gem.
Gems may look different,
but who wants to look the same?
Gems may have different values,
but who wants to be the same?
As I said,
Everyone is a gem.
In my eyes no one is better
than anyone else.
We are all beautiful gems.
People in our own gem-like way!
True diamonds in the rough...
