Forever Lay In Your Past

I can pretend not to love you
I can pretend I didn’t cry
But I can’t live my life not knowing
Always wondering why

Why you left me standing there
On that cold, lonely street
I watched you walk away
Heard the fading sounds of your feet

I stood there
Watching the empty spot
Until the street lights went out
The cars
They slowly passed by
As I began to shout

”Why? Why’d you leave me?”
”Why’d you break me down?”
”I loved you with all I had!”
”What am I suppose to do now?...”

I whispered your name for everytime you kissed me
I screamed in the dark for everytime you huged me
I cried a tear for everytime you touched me
I closed my eyes for everytime you said you loved me

Of all times, I need you now the most
Even though you’re the one that made me cry
Because you’re the only one who can stop it
I don’t want another guy

I’ll stand here, on this one spot
I’ll wait until you come back
And, if you never return
I’ll forever lay in your past
