So Fragile

someone’s crying a thousand miles away
another is laughing just down the street
still more are waiting for their own miracle
and your sinking deeper into the sheets of disdain

vandalizing your own walls with your thoughts and dreams
but no one reads them, they never did
don’t you know its been too late for a long time
a long time that dragged your desire along for the ride

i know the moments play over in your mind
you write and erase them all the time
but no one sees them, they never did
you drifted far away as time ticked on

i never imagined so much could change
but you knew all along, because you had the time
the endless amount of time for your so fragile theories, too fragile it
seems
for this dwelling is a jail, the interior for too delicate a porcelain doll
