my eyes search the scene before me
you are nowhere to be found
why have you left me here?
what did i do wrong?
was it something i said,
late in that last night we spent
together, blissfully content
with nothing else but each other
my memory fails me...

a tall figure catches my eye
could it possibly be...
no, it's not you
and i am still all alone
my heart tears under the strain,
bleeding in streams
so dark and warm
i close my eyes to regain my strength
behind them, i see your face...

clouds above me, so dark and foreboding
begin to release their hostages
and my eyes travail through the mist
your face is not with me
although it is in my head
and never leaves me a moment to think...

why has this happened?
this feeling, taking over my mind
not allowing me a moment to think
crushing me from the inside out
and all because of one thing
my need of someone with me
