Daddy's Little Girl

A Father and his daughter..
Daddy's little girl..

Hand in hand,
As the little girl told her day to her Daddy..
And he listened..
He listened like she was his world..
Like she was his pride.

He was everything to her..
Daddy's little girl,
Thinking everything of her Daddy;
He did nothing wrong..
He could reach for the cookies,
And twirl her around..
That's what she loved.

All before she came home from school..
To find out that her Daddy was gone..
Gone to Heaven,
Or to the ground..
Whatever gave her Mommy more peace.

Just a vacation for Daddy,
The little girl thought.

The little girl waited..
Maybe her Daddy could catch an early flight home.
So he could give her bear hugs again..
And tuck her in at night.

She'd frown to herself..
But smiled to her Mommy.

He's been at Disneyland for too long now,
She'd think.

A couple years later,
He's still on vacation...
But still, she comes up with his excuses..
More and more each day.

Maybe he lost his plane ticket..
Or maybe I didn't wish hard enough.

-I know this isn't the best. But it's for my Dad, like it or not.
