My Playful Thunder

I can hear the thunder
It's rolling, screaming, begging for me to come out and play
It keeps reaching forward~ reaching to pull me in
The whirling, spinning twisters pull on my tattered heart
My eyes widen with pain as I scream,
"Not today boys. Today's not my day to play!"
The sky turns an angry green
It lashes out at me
Screaming and hurtling lightening bolts in every direction
I run in panic, but my words stand strong
"TODAY, I WILL NOT PLAY!"
The time passes so slowly
My perfect storm still beckons me to come
"Run with us... We have no limits"
My battle seems a lifetime spent in hell
The more I fight, the more it pleads for me to come and play
No matter what happens, I will not play,
for today is not my day to die
