Lost Voice

A faint light shines across the room,
chasing back the darkness of night.
Her eyes cloud over lost in thought
as she sings a soft lullaby.

Reflecting up on her short past,
remembering when she would smile.
Grace and beauty befell her lips,
but now silence claims her lost voice.

The tender beauty she once saw,
remains so distant from her mind.
A gently touch she had forgot
floats graceful from the shade of night.

Its wings holding splendor and charm
as it lands within her soft hands.
Her eyes, still cast upon the night,
fail to see the beauty in life.

Her heart still beats though she is gone;
her silken skin cool to the touch.
She closes her eyes with a sigh,
and as the lights withdraw her soft voice sings
