Princess Lonely

Princess with the palest skin
But hair of the darkest brown
Outside she wears a happy smile
Inside she holds a frown

Lonely as she helps to rule
Wearing her crown with little pride
Surronded by her praisers
Her true feelings does she hide

She spends hours looking out the window
In the highest tower
Her status in the kingdom, just a symbol
Showing her given power

She slips into her dress of the finest suade
Dreading the decisions that are made
Not a word does she have in her future ways
Her hope for life still slowly fades

She awaits a prince with armour of steal
But a heart of gold
A savior on a sturdy stead
One to with grow old

Tears stream down her eyes as the maids brush her hair
They’re pulling hard at her roots, but she doesn’t care
She smooths out the white dress she is to wear
As she looks upon her ring in despair

An arranged marriage with the cockiest man
One who now has her hand
She wishes her father could understand
A marriage isn’t about the band

She waves and sends off her maids
Ignoring the good byes they baid
She wishes she could just run away
From this stressful little love cliché

Princess lovely, princess fair
Walks down the dreadful aisle
Only anger does she bare
Behind a skillful smile

Then comes the wedding vows
After came the kiss
She doesn’t remember saying ‘I do’
Was there something that she missed?

Was her corset to tight?
Because he’s slipping on the ring
Something clearly was not right
She didn’t say anything

The church bells rang, and the choir sang
That’s when you heard the odd “bang”
It sent everyone’s heart a pang
From her father you heard a “Dang!”

The fiesty princess had run out the double doors
I guess they should have expected it before
Her white dress received spots as the rain poured
She ran without a reason to run for

Her tears were unnoticable with the rain
As she ran away from all the pain
With nothing to loose and nothing to gain
You might have thought she looked insane

Until she ran into a tall young lad
Which caused her to fall pretty bad
She looked at him after her land
As he held out his helping hand

A true smile plastered on her face
Her feeling of anger now replaced
The rain storm softened, now a sputter
As her heart began to flutter

And a new cliché starts
