Have you ever wondered what happens in those milliseconds
Where your eyes are forced to shut
The vulnerable moment where you’re blinded
Yet everything seems so much clearer
In the darkness of your mind, everything so soft
So soothing, yet terrifying
How something so large and emotional
Lived inside of you
That complete black as you close your eyes
That gives you a moment to erase the pains
Worries in life
Do you ever wonder what’s happening outside?
No, of course not
You’re too busy squeezing the pain out
The wall of black as your blind fold
But if you did you would see
Treason, a world in shades of red
Where unknown monsters, so undead
Rise above to slay, kill, bring dread
As the colour comes from the blood that shed
Once you open your eyes, they disappear again
But they’ll be back, no doubts ahead
The houses burnt and the sky so bright
If you could see it, t’would be a sight
A world with no water to wash away the dirt
A world with no pills to take away the hurt
A world of bled and shedded tears
A world of creations beyond your fears
But it’s only there when you cannot see it
And I guess it’s for the best
Because, if even once, you did view it
Your eyes would never rest
In fear to see that world again, you’d never close your eyes
The veins would crawl along your eyeball, your eyelids become so dry
People who’ve seen this world are labelled crazy
Blood shot eyes, some insanely
Just because there are no microscopes that allow you to see it
Doesn’t mean it isn’t there
Just be happy you’re not haunted
By the endless dream, nightmare
So before you judge the bloodshot eyes
Promise to really think
What if you saw the bloodstained world
That appears when you blink
