who knew when we started all of this
that just a few words could take everything and
simply shatter it to pieces
it's all gone, all i've worked for
years of difficulty and hard work
down the drain in just a few minutes

but i know something you don't
i don't care about any of it
all of this means nothing to me,
even if i acted like it did
i didn't work hard,
and if it's all shattered, i couldn't care less
it happens, and you need to get over that

you may think you upset me
and for a while there, you did
but now, there's only one sound left
ringing through my head
it's my silent laughter, at you
you think you can get under my skin like that
and make me angry and upset
it's not that easy
i have to care about something in order to hate it
and i don't care about you
so i really can't hate you

for the time being, it's just me here
me and my silent laughter
