The Pianist

The pianist takes the stage feeling not only conspicuous but incredibly
vulnerable.
The song he's about to play is very personal and he's unsure he can retain
composure;
But regardless, he sits down on the wooden bench and places his shaking
hands on the cold keys.
He begins to play and as soon as his fingers push down the first chord, he
seethes with an uncontrollable energy.
As he pounds on the keys, a rush of suppressed emotions flow through his
fingers and a blurry film covers his brown eyes.
And when he strikes the last chord, he can't help but smile as the crowd
rises, applauding and cheering.
