It once was solid
Full of hope and strong

It had never been broken, cracked
or frayed

It was longing for trust, understanding
and love

I thought you could fill that void

I remember you smiling so tenderly as I softly handed it over to you

And the way you held me as i said "you hold my heart in the palm of your
hands"

You filled it with smiles, dreams
and care

And it was truly happy for the first time

But then you neglected it, filled it
with lies and tears

You frayed its edges and you didn't even seem to notice when the tear
appeared in the middle

And once a shard began to loosen, you gave it back saying you were through
playing with it

It beated softly as i held it in my hands
black creeped from the edges
Pieces were missing and shards loosened

black tears still seep from the cracks and
shards continue to fall


I am waiting until there is nothing left...
