You’re the one who listens, the one who knows.
That’s how it is, that’s how it goes.
You’re the one who sees love, hurt, and denial while
Everyone else is fooled by the smile.
You’re the one who opens up to me
And lets his love and care fly free.
You’re the one who hasn't’t walked away
And says this relationship is here to stay.
You’re the one who’s kind, gentle, and sincere
Who talks of things in which he fears.
You’re the one who said I’ll make it through
While quietly praying your comment was true.
You’re the one who’s words cannot be expressed
While putting emotions up to the test.
You’re the one who’s angel has taken his heart
While all very slowly, that angel’s falling apart.
You’re the one who’s puzzled and misunderstood.
And can’t express love in words, though you wish that you could.
You’re the one who’s love is blinding and strong
And to this love I want to hold on.
You’re the one who’s touch is like no other
And sinful eyes one like another.
Black cold hearts will never die.
They are so cruel, I won’t deny.
But passion is stronger than cruelty, it’s true.
What could I do to prove this to you?
I’d pull you close so our bodies would touch.
A kiss is simple, it’s not too much.
No tears will be shed by the passionate foes,
But those of cruelty, I will never know.
Guilt may come to those who have sinned,
But when it comes to love, we’ll always win.
I wrote this poem to my ex-boyfriend when he was still around. I have never
shared it with anyone else before.
