I know this isn't much
But it is written with lots of love
Since this isn't a big gift
When you get home expect a big hug
You have done far more for me
Than many dads would think of
I know I complained a lot growing up
In all actuality, you were and are...
...A blessing from above
There is no man alive
Nor any man on earth
That can be the dad you have been
From day one, my birth
You have been a good friend
And someone I looked up to
I never have said it a lot
But dad I love you
I don’t call this day Father’s Day
Because you are not a father at all
A father does not love his kids like you
You are a dad that stands tall
I hope one day to be the dad
That you have been to me
I hope to make you proud
To see the man I come out to be
I did not want to make this real long
But you have done so much for me
There is no way to show all my appreciation
So that you would understand and see
I am honored to have a dad like you
Even if I become half the dad you have been
I will consider myself to be one of the best
Never to reach your level but above many other men
Well I will end this poem of love
And tell you that you are loved more than it is said
Every day I pray to myself
That I will see you sometime tomorrow...
...After I get out of bed
Dad you are loved more than I can say or show
I hope you understand and never forget that
You are my dad and my best friend
And I would not want it any other way
I love you dad and happy Daddy’s Day
