I smiled at him today,
The one who broke my heart,
I didn't have to force it upon my face either.

I made friends today,
I didn't just walk away,
It wasn't hard either.

I actually talked at school today,
I didn't care what people thought,
I didn't mind the extra attention either.

I had fun today,
I came home and didn't wipe tears from my eyes,
I didn't feel the need to cut my self either.

I lived another day,
I didn't regret it either,
All because I gave life a second chance.
