Tainted Silhouette

I feel the emptiness swirl around me;
as it sinks it's teeth deeply inside me
Ripping out a vital chunk
But that's not it's solicitude
It's only concern is that I'm mangled.
that I'm crippled so substantially,
that I'm asphyxiating in my own tears
I'm left groping the darkness,
trying to rescue myself from this lethal pool
before it makes another bleeding gouge.
But despite my best efforts, I fail.
A flame like light appears before me,
revealing a tall silhouette
I muster up my courage and I stand up.
The light flicks on, off, then on again,
manifesting the identity of my biggest fear.
The tainted silhouette is...me
