Maybe It Wasn't

Why, do the rivers resemble my tears?
Why, does the end seem so darn near?
I’m at the cliff and I’m on the edge
Maybe I’ll jump off
I’m sure to be crushed, reassured death
Let’s make the landing soft
Why, do the tears and the stars, fall?
A road down an empty hall
And I don’t understand it all
But at the end, I’ll be standing tall
My eyes will forever ache
You watch as my heart breaks
Would you like fries with that broken soul?
Too much salt with the heart you stole
My time is done, check please
Alone as one, without ease
A broken heart, so often worded
The crumbled pieces, such a burden
Sometimes it actually hurts
Sometimes it doesn’t
Maybe it was true love
Maybe it wasn’t
Everything you need
It’s just mind over matter
Was it False or True?
I’d choose the latter
