I walk out of fourth period,
And there you are,
Passing the doorway
Across the hall.
What a refreshing sight,
What a feeling.

That's the first time I see you all day..
And it almost burns when I glance at you..
Because I know you glance at me, too.
And it kills me how I'll never have you..
But the twinkle in your eyes keeps me satisfied.

And I just can't help but feel butterflies when I look at you.
They fly around,
Tickling my insides..
Reminding me of how I feel for you.

I hope you have butterflies when you look at me, too..
I hope they're so energetic.
I hope they fly so fast,
Zooming past your feelings for her,
Setting them aside for just one moment.

I hope she escapes your mind
When you smile at me,
And when I try to push back my anxiety
To smile back.

You're setting me up,
I know it.
But that's fine,
Just keeping passing by my English class
And I won't ever mind.

Yeah, I know it's only a step into a hole,
But I'll keep on stepping,
If you keep on smiling
And looking at me the way you do.
