Break My Fall
It is these times:
When the leaves are falling,
And the cold is creeping in.
Attire is getting thicker,
Doors and windows are being closed tight.
Oak and poplar is crackling in the fireplace,
And I sit here and
I begin to wonder,
How did I find you?
-The years had past,
And life had really lost its meaning.
Days drug on, then the next the same.
No one seemed to realize,
Just how lonely one could get.
Then just as I began to fall, a downward spiral,
I found you waiting
To break my fall.
It was hard at first,
This feeling inside.
A feeling that relentlessly tugged at me,
Pulling my thoughts away,
To entertain its fantasies, and of course
Think of you.
It was late summer,
The sun was setting.
I caught your smile, the dazzling shimmer.
You caught the twinkle in my eyes.
We had our first embrace.
Soaring forward,
The sun is high in the sky.
Leaves are falling all around us,
The wind is whirling them around our feet.
I pull you in close, and feel your heart quicken.
We share our first kiss.
And here I look back at these times,
And I pull you close.
A smile comes to my lips,
Parting them, I turn my head to you and say,
“I love you, always and forever.”

(Poets Note) I haven't written anything in over 8 months, so I do suppose
this might not be my best. I have been at a loss for words for quite some
time, and I guess I finally have some insperation, hehe.
