Little Sister

I’m so sick of this
No matter where I go or what I do
There will always be a lingering memory of you.
I’m always your little sister.
I’m always inferior to you.

No matter how much I say my name
Or try to shed my past
I’m always the little sister.
I deserve to be my own self at last.

Everyone remembers
What an extremist you are.
Everyone remembers the perfection of your hair.
And they always look to me.
Expecting me to be the same,
But I am my own person.
I am not your clone.
