One boy who refused to open his eyes
Surrounded himself in his foolish lies
He sat in the dark and wonder why
His world had so little light inside
When all he had to do was open up
And let in the shine that was held behind
These houses are no home for him
They tear him right down every limb
Every un-manlike tear that runs down his face
Sets him back a few steps to a different place
Memories of horrid times ring through his helpless ears
The lurking darkness hides everything except his fears
His eyes show the flashes of his past that sting so hard
Paranoia controls his thoughts, he’s always on guard
The wisp of the wind can not blow away every scar
This emotional dagger has plunged way too far
A sickening smile haunts his vision
A terrifying sight addition
Cold fingers and ashy knuckles grab onto empty air
His neck gets filled with pole-straight hairs
Where are the ones who love him? Have they left?
Went away, without a note, and thought it was best
Boy, don’t let those toothy smiles fool you
They can’t find you, only loose you
Boy, don’t wait for them to find you alone
Pack up your bags and find your way home…
