Listen to her cry
listen to her weep
listen to her screaming in her sleep
as a child she was beat
always feeling weak
always feeling sad
always feeling lonely
no one to hold
her daddy was never
and when he was it wasn't fair
her mommy was a drunk
and her daddy didn't care
because he was always drugged up
it didn't matter what she did
she would always leave the room feeling sad
black eye or a bloody lip
her life was a mess
like a game of 52 pick up
always looking for the next piece
scared to move from place to place
never knowing what was to come
maybe her mommy wouldn't drink
maybe her daddy wouldn't smoke
maybe her life would turn around
maybe her bruises would heal
maybe her scars would fade
maybe her life would turn around
