Forget His Name

Spit out the venom that slipped in my mouth
What was once surreal, has gone way down south
How could I have kissed those lips of yours
That spat the twisted lies, so cruel and sore
Like a hurricane spun without an end
The words you said would always bend
Best buds could see there was something wrong
I’m surprised it even took them that long
It feels like I’m digging a hole forever
My destination close to the course of never
Photographs capture moments that won’t return
But these memories in my head I will burn
Determined to forget you, I already regret you
My uncontrolled brain is set to
Self-destruct, fatal combust
I know you disagree, but I must
Wipe my memory like a dirty window of seeing
So that finally I can see things clearly
My hand still feels yours against it
My eyes have not gotten rest yet
But I stand here telling you without shame
I promise you, I’ll forget your name
