in a row of candles
celebratory or in mourning
they’ll stop glowing in the morning
the moon will let them away in the evening
and the sun will attack them in the twilight
but for now they glow
but for now, one seems to blink
standing apart from its
semi alphabetical row
one seems to flutter
to dance flash as a flashbulb at a camera's closed shutter
leaping shadows
galloping pupil sizes
one seems to blink
to stand apart
savoring final dominance
for sunrise is soon to start
