The fool stands there
looking stunned as can be
wondering why they are here
why is it them with all the pain

The fool looking up at the sky
trying to hold back the tears
saying they are strong
when truly they are weak

The fool,
after years of guarding
with just one kiss
everything is lost

The fool lost in thought
nothing is the same anymore
it can never be
not for them

Trying to see what went wrong
when was it that they let down their guard,
their only protection
of never getting hurt

The fool is the one
left on the curb
wondering...
