The lights are flashing
And they're calling out your name,
Begging for a glimpse of those pearly whites,
But you're only begging for them to stop.

But as the flash hits your face,
We're all seeing the shine of your cheeks,
The glimmer of tears on your skin.
Is this what you signed up for in acting school?

The cameras are on you,
Miss Academy,
What will you tell them?
Mascara runs on its own?

Show them that Daddy doesn't hit you,
Show them that your prince is absolutely charming.

Say that the camera flash
Was just too bright for your attention;
You didn't get to see it coming,
He never meant to make you cry.

Slip your sunglasses on;
They can't see that black eye.

Frustrated with dirty words?
Rotten words from your prince;
You're just a spoiled movie star,
You're just another hole to finger.

Bothered with broken up make-up?
Yeah, he'll break more than your career.
Thank God for tanning booths;
Your nose is still in place.

Oh, Miss Academy,
Who said these acting classes
Were only three times a week?

You signed up for a lifetime..
The minute you kissed him,
The minute you fought back.
