You’re down on your knees,
Your palms touch so tight
Your eyes are dancing
So loyal and bright
Praying for god to bring you good health
For love, and for children, your own precious wealth
’Breath on me, lord Jesus, for my hands do quake
From the thoughts and the sins, that my heart does make
Forgive me for praying, when others need care
The ones without shelter, or good food to spare’
And suddenly, eyes wide, you look all around
Viewing people, all praying, not making a sound
You spot a poor woman, clutching her baby
And to the far corner, is a poor fragile lady
A man who lost everything, poor on the streets
Children without mittens, or shoes on their feet
You catch a glimpse of all races, all knees are bent
All hoping that their wishes, all be sent
And at that fine moment, you hope your prayers god forgets
And your true real prayer, is for theirs to be met
’Lord, don’t let them suffer
On such a cold, gentle night
For their tears will be frozen
Until the morning brings light’
So blessed the people, who walk this large earth
Who became a part of it, at their holy birth
We all are gods children, our spirits do show
That we’re part of something bigger, then we could ever know
’Forgive me for turning, my head the other way
I wish to take back the bad words, that I did say
Let’s love everybody, dare not us shun
In this church, we gather, to morph all as one’
