This poem’s not about you
It’s about everything you lose,
When you blink
When you sink
While you’re drowning
Don’t reach for me
You’re the most beautiful thing.
As far as the eye can see
As long as I still breath..
These words are not for you
There for me to release tension
These words are
Why did I state that one simple fact
When I’d knew you’d react the way that you did
And now I’m lost again.
You were the most beautiful girl.
In the yearbook,
In the mirror look.
In the whole bar
And now in the graveyard.
