Don't You See

blank are your eyes, cold and dead
can't take back what you said
your words spoken in permanent ink
who am i? i shudder to think
soon enough, your palm will show
the beat of my heart stops in it's tracks
the rose on my coffin, velvet black
powder me in arsenic, drown me in kerosene
my heart is now ripped more than my jeans
you wrote my book and sang my song
and all the while i played along
then you tied my noose for me
and hung me from the willow tree
soon enough, your palm will show
the beat of my heart stops in it's tracks
the rose on my coffin, velvet black
powder me in arsenic, drown me in kerosene
my heart is now ripped more than my jeans
the tears you see, don't you see?
all the stitches you gave to me
there weren't any wounds at all
just when you made me fall
the scars you see, don't you see?
cast this cloud over me
so stop before you shatter my bones
you are my killer, i am your clone
don't you see
the beat of my heart stops in it's tracks
the rose on my coffin, velvet black
powder me in arsenic, drown me in kerosene
my heart is now ripped more than my jeans
