slathering on personifications
fleshing out miscreant axioms
tilting the cerebral watering can
emptying deity’s embryonic fluid
spattering the naked stone spirit
with the watermill of fortune’s wheel;
cog dipped in moonstruck ether
in which fish-bird banshee children swim
through swarms of them flew the exiled guelf
pining concentric headlong into saint-swirl
with senses ablaze, the quivering quill
swabs black blood on zen-empty spaces
reconfiguring into syllabic textures
fantasia-flecked canticles
stillborn in mind’s eye
imprinted on the psyche
in ineffable tones

as dangling participles feel out their footing
dystopian hymns by posthumous cynics
bypass corporeal stimuli in favor of
apathy’s subconscious kudzu creeping
up the flab-flaps of stretch-marked brainskin
conspicuously into the holy of holies
laying leeching eggs of self awareness
peddling black oblivion from the bargain bin
economical only from the fringe intangible;
splash-back from the abysmal fountainhead
of the nature-abhorred void’s stinging acid
as bleary eyes unsheathe in the blur of morning
so does the mind rightfully recoil from
it’s self-made dark chasm: effortlessly
