The silence of nature born
Sat alone on the sand of fire
A muted sprite contemplated
Surrounding bits of dire
Atop his head a swaying tree
Said nothing to ease his pain
His heart was heavy with doom
As he sat in the drizzling rain
A pixie figure squatting low
Upon the moss laden ground
Roaming lowly, his spirits ran
As the wood made not a sound
One short step, eastward he crawled
For the sun did shine upon him
A second movement of a figure
Toward a life that is not so dim
Hope will out in the silent nature
Of the lives we nurture every day
Be their bodies large or small
Be it idle or alive in play
