The Last Goodbye

Ripped my heart out, gave it to you on a plate
Because I’ve had enough of it, this is about all I can take
Tried to be what you wanted, tried to be a fake
Made up, just pretending, a new beginning
Never ending
A religion followed
All a bunch of lies
A fountain of paper hearts
Rip them down the middle and watch as it parts
Didn’t know any better
You were my queen
Sexy and seductive and only seventeen
Gave you everything I had, people said I was mad
But I thought they were stupid and jealous
Who knew you were such a deviant?
We went to the finest restaurants
You always forgot your purse
People said you were a bitch, an evil curse
I laughed it off, what could be worse
You made me call you every night just to say ‘hi’
I was always the last to say goodbye
