For first I had tasted thee
And thy poison filed rich
Rich as wine and bitter tea
And if thou wish, I will stitch
Bind thy heart gladly with mine
Together apart and forever no end
Thy taste of grapes and loving vine
I hath no greater way to spend
Eternity than with a maiden fair
Fair as thee and thou doth not wither
Even with age and time is unaware
Ask to bless me dear do come hither
Feed me grapes of thy vine sweet
Let me but taste what wine upon lips
And for me there is no greater feat
Then to hold thee till a new eclipse
