Ghetto Child Forgotten

Ghetto child forgotten
from the day it started beating
his heart started plotting its course to stopping
ghetto child remembered
by family members, and by those in whose hands his life was ended
ghetto child steaming
cause all his dreaming is seeming to dissipate like the sun light in the
evening, but he goes on scheming
ghetto child infatuated
by thug life which to him is demonstrated daily by corner pushers who have
so said made it
ghetto child frustrated
working hard in school but staying uneducated, observing his parents who
graduated but remained fools, never appreciated or compensated what they
deserve
working dead end jobs while the dead end jobs work their nerves
ghetto child innocent
with no intent to do harm and wields at will charm only in possession of
prepubescent adolescence, still young but already getting cold from
life's so called lessons
ghetto child born
and already scheduled to die
so before he closes his eyes his mind rewinds to the innocence so easily
lost in between the cracks of time and concrete
so maybe he can greet death with a smile, and finally relax before his
breath shall cease
dedicated to all the ghetto children of the world
may you all rest in peace
