the age of innocence

Tomorrow is a blind hope for us all
For what does tomorrow truly hold?
Hopes and dreams
Which we will wish for until the last syllable of recorded time
Watch the flame of your brief candle
For with no mercy
I could blow it out
Leaving you to be no more than flesh and bones
A soul caught in the earths hold
Rotting in the dirt of a thousand years
With no purpose and no name
Lovers will come and go
To only satisfy us for a small period
In this cold wasteland of eternity
The interests die
And love can fade
Lies deceive
For whatever reason it does not last
All I have is my immortality, my knowledge
My constant thirst for life’s essence
Confidence won’t help you
This is your fate, your destiny
Which I hold in my arms
The inevitable end to life
Your death is my peace
You have met your end
I will not
Not for an eternity
Until I am in flames
And the devil opens his arms wide
Hell is everywhere I go
I am fallen from grace
I am a dark angel
As are my fellow kind
But my fall from grace has been a sad one
From priest to demon in only a few short years
Those I once loved are now gone
They were delivered into the hands of death
Others have walked to remote corners of the world
Running away from our dark reality
But, my brothers and sisters,
It is time to face our destinies
To raise hell and be known
People will scream our names
We will be worshipped in holy places
It is time to rise above our co-existence
And breathe our lies to the world
